Abstract Photo of the Week

My friend and I went to Tory Row in Harvard Square for the first time to grab some brunch.  It happened to be Halloween and this is my impression of Ghosts on the Wall.

  1. Surprised this photo has no comments!

Technique - I find it amazing how your eye and camera settings allowed the capture of dimension in the shadows. In terms of layout, it’s unfortunate how the panels split up the reflection. There’s a little hot spot on the right side of the pic, but otherwise, great execution for the subject you have chosen. I love how the camera has captured select wood tones. It makes the reflections of light look like a steely white-blue.

Vision - The idea of “Ghosts on the Wall” is kind of awesome. Very unique. It’s like looking at a very abstract reflection of all the conversations, people and movement in the room.

Impact/Originality - It invokes an emotional sense of fresh, almost childlike wonder; of capturing the moment. Really makes one look into the picture, to see all the layers of shadows and light and silhouetted people. Kind of makes one think of how these layers of humanity, of interaction may go unnoticed in the larger picture. Like a pebble in a pond, in how the intermingling of people catalyse these interesting visions which only those of greater vision may see.

    Cheers. Great photo. Keep shooting.
